EnVision Your Reality: How to Create a Vision Board
Monday, June 16th, 2008 at 11:15 amOne of the most effective ways to create the life that you desire is to enVision it. Our Unconscious Mind thinks in images, so when we communicate with that part of our minds using visual cues we are essentially learning to speak the same language.
We are inundated with visual data every day, but how much of what we see is helping us to move in the direction of our dreams? In choosing to Deliberately Create your reality, you must learn to consciously select the input that you are sending to your mind. As long as your values and beliefs support the life that you wish to create, you will manifest that which you think about and vividly imagine.
So how do we vividly imagine the life of our dreams? One of the most fun and effective ways to do that is to create a Vision Board. Essentially, a Vision Board is a collection of images of the people, things and experiences that you would like to create in your life. It is a simple and fun process. Take a look at my vision board (pictured above) and then consider the following as you create one for yourself:
1. Go through magazines, newspapers and other visual media to find images that show the things that you would like to create in your life.
2. Be sure to think about every area of your life (i.e. home, professional life, hobbies, relationships, health, financial etc.)
3. Find pictures that inspire, motivate or move you emotionally. Emotions are a powerful manifestational energy.
4. Glue the images on to a piece of poster board in an attractive and pleasing way.
5. Hang the vision board up where you will see it daily.
6. Spend some time each day studying your vision board and anchoring the images into your Unconscious Mind.
7. As you visualize, add sensory details. What would the thing that you imagine look like? How would it taste? How would it feel to the touch? Would it have a sound or a smell? The more vivid your image, the more real it becomes to your Unconscious Mind.
For those of you who are technologically inclined, you can take a picture of your board and use it as wallpaper or a screensaver on your computer. You can also make a vision board on the computer by creating a Powerpoint of images that you can watch on the screen.
Regardless of which method you use, the important thing to remember is to make sure that you spend some time each day connecting with this vision. You create in your life that which you think about most. Spend some time each day thinking about and visualizing that which you desire and move more quickly in the direction of your dreams.
