Coaching
What is coaching?
Life coaching is a process that allows clients to tap into their fullest potential in order to foster growth and expansion in all areas of their life. Through the coaching process, clients learn to recognize limiting beliefs, choices and behaviors, and begin to develop tools and skills for moving beyond them into self-empowerment and self-actualization. The coach/client relationship is a synergistic partnership which allows the client to achieve more in a shorter period of time than they would alone.
How does coaching work?
Coaches support clients by listening without judgment, asking thought provoking questions, offering different perspectives, pointing out potential traps, providing feedback, acknowledging successes and helping the client to stay accountable. With willingness and commitment, clients can affect great change in their lives by learning to take responsibility for their beliefs, choices and behavior and consciously move in the direction of their dreams.
Structure
All coaching sessions are conducted over the phone. Sessions are an hour long once a week for a minimum of 12 sessions. Depending on what it is that they are trying to achieve in their life, clients may choose to continue working with a coach for a year or longer.

- You are in transition in your work, your relationships or in your environment.
- You enjoy collaboration and want to be held accountable.
- You want to improve your communication skills.
- You would like to have more fun, be more creative and feel more fulfilled.
- You would like to explore new possibilities and perspectives.

- You want some support in your spiritual life.
How do I pick a coach?
Most coaches offer a free consultation so that you can experience their style and determine whether or not you are a good match. To get the most from your time, bring a specific issue or challenge that you are facing to the call and ask the coach to give you a sample of their coaching techniques. After the call, ask yourself:
- Did the coach listen and understand me?
- Do I feel inspired by the coach’s approach?
- Did I feel a rapport and connection with the coach?
- Did I leave the call with a new perspective?
- Did I gain any new skills or tools and/or did we come up with an action step?
Coaching vs. psychotherapy
Therapy focuses on the healing and resolution of issues rooted in the client’s past, or issues related to abuse, addictions or trauma.
Coaching focuses on the client’s present and future life and is action-oriented. A coach is someone who assists clients in breaking down goals, projects, and plans into practical, do-able action steps so that they can move in the direction of their dreams.
